All-time low..

I got back from my holidays a few days ago, just in time to learn that New Orleans no longer exists. Late night news, chaos, 80% of the city under water, people dying from exhaustion in the SuperDome, Bush sending the army to shoot those who try to steal food and drinks from superstores. Is this what the end of the world would look like?
I'm scared. After London, it looks as if every city I've lived in is doomed to undergo destruction. I think of the friends I had there, wonder where they are now. I think of this cajun family I still have on video, who invited us to share the seafood they had just fished from the bayou. Indeed, they spoke a really weird kind of French. I just hope they still do...
